An entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff and assembles a plane on the way down

Alexandra Hussenot, Founder of Immersionn had the opportunity to participate to Founders4School Digital to share stories about her entrepreneurship journey

Hopefully this will inspire some youngsters to take this path.

"About a year ago I heard this quote: 'an entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff and assembles a plane on the way down' says Alexandra Hussenot".

"At first I thought this was exaggerated but not anymore. Despite I already jumped the cliff 18 months ago, it has felt we needed to jump several more cliffs and take more risks until a recent time when it felt we finally grew some wings.

I don't believe a new venture can be successful if the founder has a side job for example. So letting go of a monthly income to start has to happen first. Before you know it, you'll let go of fancy holidays, dinners at restaurants, taxis and you'll spend your business trips nights on couches of friends and family!

If your priority was to be independent, then you'll have to let go of that too. To win, you will be dependant on people and they will depend on you. People make things.

Because people are at the heart of it, you will also have to let go of people who don't fit and get comfortable with saying goodbye. Sometime to friends.

But it's all worth it, when you see the airplane starts to fly and you have many new friends to thank for this".
