Immersionn™ combines VR-AI-Web to enable
a first-of-a-kind spatial UI, to re-invent the way
content libraries are explored.
Immersionn™ allows people to become virtual explorers and discover new VR and 360-degree content that they have never seen before across a range of different topics.
In 2025, 5G will be widely deployed and with Edge-computing, heavy tasks will be done on cloud. This allows lighter and cheaper headsets with normal eye-wears form factors.
By 2025, VR headsets become mainstream.
Currently virtual reality (VR) content is not easily accessed and distributed. Content is only accessible from a small number of overseas manufacturers (e.g. Oculus, HTC) who act as content gatekeepers focused on games. This has led to a reduced appetite for repeat uses; and VR is not fully monetised.
Late 2018 Mozilla launched the first WebVR browser.
In January 2019 , John Carmack, Oculus-CTO, stated: "Browser is the #1 app. Watching video in browser, both conventional flat and 180/360/stereo immersive is very popular".
In March 2019 Alvin-Wang, HTC-President, stated: "WebVR is an important way people will get content...Having to download a 5GB piece of content before you can play it is not great. Streaming... is the future..."
Immersionn™ is set to instigate a new movement to bring VR to the Web and decentralize as well as curate VR content recommendation. Our platform is device agnostic and makes informed, intuitive content recommendations powered by the creators themselves.
It also helps creators to monetize through a revenue share model with the subscription we collect from end-users.
This will disrupt the market, unlocking distributors, opening up access to mainstream audiences and increasing the popularity and take-up of VR content
Why invest in us
Immersionn™ is at the forefront of a fast-growing and game-changing market that Goldman Sachs predicts will be worth over $80 billion by 2025.
Our revenue forecast:
Year 1 £0,5M
Year 2 £2.5M
Year 6 £220M
Some competitors -e.g search engine SVRF, WebVR browser Firefox Reality - try to help discovery but they are not addressing all success factors:
1-Discovery: algorithm powered by the users/creators & and spatial UI.
2-Quality: via curation.
3-Adoption and monetisation: via all-you-can-eat subscriptions.
Immersionn™ enhances the browsers capabilities and the distributors/publishers' libraries through discovery. B2C and white-label distribution are both in scope.
Where we are now
We are launching in September with the beta version of our application dedicated to immersive journalism.
We have established partnerships with Euronews, Arte (German broadcaster), Dagens Nyheter (Sweden’s premier newspaper). The launch version will include over 100 immersive documentaries in up to 13 languages: English, French, Germany, Swedish, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Grecque, Hungarian, Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Russian.
In October we will proceed with a formal launch & PR event in London, supported with our attendance at the Augmented World Expo in Munich.
Our goal is to rapidly become a central point for immersive journalism discovery across a panel of diverse worldwide media and creators e.g BBC, New York Times, National Geographic
Where we will go next
By focusing on the ease-of-use and monetisation for creators, we will quickly build up a VR content library. Once we have critical mass in terms of content, we will attract more users and the platform will start to snowball.
We will focus first on few verticals such as immersive journalism & cultural heritage to build critical mass, get a reputation.
We will continue R&D focused on the discovery engine: our USP. It includes crawlers for discovery of new 360/VR content on the web, a curation algorithm, a recommendation editor and a disruptive spatial UI. Content metadata extraction, analytics and match-making is at the heart of the system we are developing.
Then we will roll out to other content verticals: art, education, fiction/sci-fi, advertising, sport, food, opera, celebrities… etc
Intended impact & route to market
Discovery Engine: Over 33% of the forecasted global XR revenue share is expected to go to hardware manufacturers, through device sales and to telecommunication operators, through sales of 5G mobile data, who will be the main content and application distribution platforms initially. Our discovery engine is at the crossroads of these and interoperable with all of their platforms, increasing user engagement and giving us over 10% of the market.
Our growth fuelled by 3 routes to market
B2C: with an acquisition strategy initially supported by the VR, WebVR and creators communities and our media partners.
B2B2C: 5G Telco operators and other vertical markets (e.g Transport, Automotive, Mobile OEMs) with large user bases that could benefit from proposing Immersionn’s offering to their customers are also target clients. In particular Immersionn’s founder is member of the UK5G Creative Industries working group, supporting the acceleration of the immersive sector adoption of 5G. A number of initiatives with the working group are about to start from August 2019.
Value add services, B2B brokerage: Content commissioners (Media, Brand, Agencies) will submit content production briefs via the platform and we will deliver offers back from creators.
